As an EHS Specialist, you will play a central role in maintaining and improving workplace environment, health, and safety. You will work closely with operators, maintenance personnel, and management to implement and follow up on EHS standards, contribute to solving complex challenges, and promote a proactive safety culture. The role involves both strategic work and practical presence in the factory.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

The role of EHS Specialist involves a broad responsibility to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as to proactively work with risk assessments and improvement measures. You will be both strategic and operational, focusing on building a strong safety culture through dialogue, training, and practical implementation in the factory environment.

• Lead and participate in incident investigations and ergonomic assessments.
• Perform reporting, such as incidents, including action plans.
• Conduct internal audits.
• Communicate with authorities such as local environmental management, County Administrative Board, and Rescue Services and conduct inspections.
• Plan and conduct recurring drills, including predefined scenarios.
• Update and improve internal training and materials regarding safety, health, and environment.
• Understand, implement, and follow up on DOW’s internal standards such as Life Critical Standards.
• Organize and conduct workplace measurements, such as air and noise measurements in the factory. This is then used as a basis for decisions on the type of personal protective equipment for different tasks.
• Engage in dialogues with colleagues in the factory, discussing the importance of safety and health, providing input, and gathering thoughts and ideas.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Has a chemical background, preferably with post-secondary education.
• Good knowledge of the chemical industry and its risks.
• Has an understanding of working with management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9000, 14000).
• Advanced knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as communication and documentation occur in both languages.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Previous experience from the industry.
